The Word of the Month of January is “Listen to God”. Are you listening to God? Can you hear His voice? Is God’s voice even familiar to you? This is what I heard from the Lord…
“My people are not listening to me. It’s like a game of Chinese whispers. They go to other people to hear my word but they don’t come directly to me. My word is being distorted, perverted and misinterpreted. I need my children to come back to me.”
There are 3 things that God wants us to do in order for us to listen to Him.
The 3 P’s:
When you position yourself before the presence of God, His voice becomes a lot more familiar to you. So familiar that you are able to distinguish His voice from yours and the devil’s. On top of that, you will be able to hear Him when He comes in a still and small voice. God doesn’t just show up in the thunder, fire and wind, but there are times He comes in a whisper. You’ve got to make sure that you can still hear him even then. You may have to eliminate some distractions. Which leads me to…
What are you listening to? God is saying that for some of you “You can’t hear me because of the music you are listening to”. God kept telling me some of you need to stop listening to secular music and consecrate yourself. What you are listening to is blocking you from hearing God’s voice clearly. Who and what is in your ear? Get rid of distractions.
When you position yourself before God and protect your ear gates, you’re then able to know and follow the plans of God. When you do, write them down. Don’t write the vision without having listened to God first.
Samuel had an ear to hear but not the discernment to listen. Until he was pointed in the right direction back to the voice of God by Eli. Here I am pointing you back to the voice of God. When you do go before His feet be like Samuel in his response to God, “Speak, for your servant is listening” (1 Samuel 3:10).
Be ready and a willing servant to obey and to do the plans of God and the calling over your life. God is calling you but are you even listening to Him to answer the call. Don’t leave God on voicemail. But pick up the call and listen to His voice. He has a plan for you, follow Him.
